COURSE OVERVIEW
Pre-registration Required Once a month from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the This program is a two-hour victim impact panel for non-alcohol involved traffic offenders. Volunteer speakers address the more serious consequences of common driving errors, including failure to use seat belts. In general, participants in this program are those who have first offenses and want to make a plea bargain. Our volunteer speakers include the victim of a traffic accident, a nurse educator from St. John�s Injury Prevention Office, a medical investigator from the Greene County Medical Examiner�s office and a retired Missouri Highway Patrolman. The emphasis of this program is on possible consequences - the consequence of a ticket and offender education program viewed in comparison to the possible real life consequences that could be or might have been. Verbal responses following this program show it to be very effective for the first time offender of traffic offenses in raising awareness of the importance of our responsibilities to each other as drivers.
