OZARKS CORPORATE SAFETY AWARDS 2009

The Safety Council of the Ozarks is proud to announce the winners of the 2009 Corporate Safety Awards presented on September 11, 2009.

The annual awards presented by the Safety Council of the Ozarks are based on categories which are related to the total man hours worked per company:

The categories are:

  • Category 1 – 20,000 – 50,000 hours
  • Category 2 – 50,001 – 100,000 hours
  • Category 3 – 100,001 – 200,000
  • Category 4 – 200,001 plus hours

For 2009 there were applications submitted for 1, 2 and 4.

Ozarks Safety Excellence Award:

This award was established to recognize and honor companies that strive to provide a culture of safety at their workplace. The criteria is based on the Total Case Injury and Illness Rate (TCIIR) and Days Away Restriction Transfer (DART). The average of the most recent three calendar years was compared to the average industry rate. Companies with the largest percent difference between their industry average and their internal record receive this award.

Les Reynolds Commitment to Excellence Award

This award, established in honor of Les Reynolds, Founder of the Safety Council of the Ozarks, is the highest regional award presented by the Safety Council and is only presented annually.

This award was established to recognize companies that work to make the world safer. The criteria is based on the Experience Modifier, the Total Case Injury and Illness Rate (TCIIR) and the Days Away Restriction Transfer (DART). An average of the most recent three calendar years was compared to the average industry rate. Companies with the largest percent difference between their industry average and their internal record are recognized with this award.
